Geddington Stars FC 1892-3 Season

On the reverse, the following in inscribed:

This photo was taken in 1892 by a man from Irthlingboro. it is the Geddington Stars Football team.

From left to right,

  1. the first man in ## # Kyle Landlord of the Royal George, now dec:
  2. Bob Dainty:
  3. W Dix known as Billy he used to do haircutting and shaving for the men and boys of Geddington before Ladies hairdressing was in fashion.
  4. G H Patrick, a Parish councillor now and pretty well known.
  5. A Walpole, always known as "Kingy". Now living at Kettering.

  1. W Bishop, dec:
  2. Ted Patrick, bricklayer now of Kettering.
  3. J Ashby, dec:

  1. Dick Clipstone, a bricklayer too at Geddington

  4. H Potter now living at Chesterfield I think
  5. W Clipstone, the captain, a plumber and painter.
The house in the background has been pulled down many years now. It was used to make ladders in.
