It was such a hot night last night at the Star Charity Quiz! In aid of Hedgehog Lodge Rescue, Caroline and Jerry bravely battled to do raffle ticket duty and collect the Quiz money. Thank you for such an interesting raffle of plain envelopes, each one containing a magnificent prize. Consequently we raised £241.40p for the Hedgehogs.
Special thanks must go to the bar staff, Emma and Marcie for gallantly pulling the pints and serving drinks in such heat and in a very busy pub.
12 teams took part with only 1 point between each score. 5th with 82 points was Geddington Goers and 4th with 83 was Old Rockers.
A newish team “Jack Harker” (editor of Newsletter.com (Ed- Err…. I think that’s Geddington.net!)) came third with 85 points. Changing their team to Mummy’s Favourites didn’t curry any favours!! Jack did however take some photos so they really can be in Newsletter.com without AI interfering!!

In first place equal with 85 points were Motley Crew and NFN. Time for a tie-breaker.
The question was; A hundred years ago there were 10 million African Elephants in the wild. How many are there in the wild today. And the answer was… 415,000.
And the winner was NFN who just pipped Motley Crew. It was very exciting, I had to commiserate so many teams.

The next Quiz is on Tuesday 13th August and is in aid of Geddington Montrose Football Club Under 11s team. Please ring or call in and book your team, and numbers so that Richard, the Landlord can organise it. Do come again new teams The Fenestrators and Mummy’s Favourites. We love you !!!
