The Parish Council met on Monday 8 December 2025 to discuss policing, planning applications, finance, and several longer-term issues affecting the parish.
Key points from the meeting include:
- Police and community safety:
PCSO Norbert Meszes attended and reported on a recent police surgery held in the village car park, which was well used by residents. Concerns raised included speeding, drink driving and cannabis use. Speed awareness sessions have recently taken place in Newton Road and Grafton Road, and an informal report will be shared with councillors. - North Northamptonshire Council representation:
Councillors expressed disappointment that the North Northants councillor was again unable to attend, having only been present at one meeting since the May elections. - Parish Plan update:
Headings and initial ideas have now been agreed, and consultation with residents will be the next step. Possible future facilities discussed included a community orchard, boules area and permanent table tennis table.
The meeting also covered:
- Parking difficulties on the corner of Grange Road and Skeffington Close
- Finance and spending
- Planning matters
- Stonepit Land
- Play area maintenance
- Defibrillators
- Cycle rack
- EV charging points
