The February minutes of the Geddington, Newton, and Little Oakley Parish Council are now available. Key topics discussed included:
- Vandalism Concerns: A resident raised concerns about recent car vandalism. The incident has been reported to the police, and the Parish Council will contact the local Community Police Officer to request patrols near the village hall car park.
- Flooding and Drainage: Updates were given on ongoing drainage issues in Stamford Road and Wood Street. Kier is expected to address several concerns as weather improves, and work is also underway to clarify the maintenance of an attenuation pond.
- Stonepit Land Leases: The Youth Club is expected to respond to the Council’s letter by the end of February. GVFB have requested clarifications on their proposed lease and are considering a rolling seven-year term.
- EV Charging Points: Around 30 parish clerks have responded to our request for feedback on EV charging schemes. Responses will be reviewed at the March meeting, and the potential project will proceed to tender if any costs are involved.
- Community Events & Maintenance:
- The Cricket Club has been granted permission to host a summer event in July, with conditions on vehicle access and insurance.
- A sycamore tree in Skeffington Close is being reviewed again for safety concerns following resident reports.
- The Council agreed in principle to support accessibility improvements at Little Oakley’s hut, pending further details.
- Disabled Parking: A third quote is being sought for installing additional disabled parking bays at the Village Hall.
