The November minutes of the Geddington, Newton, and Little Oakley Parish Council are now available. Key topics discussed included:

  • Traffic Issues on Queen Street: Concerns were raised about excessive speeds during school pick-up times, with a recent crash underscoring the need for action.
  • Village Hall: The Village Hall Committee has agreed to reinstate the honours board of former Parish Council Chairs.  Also discussed was the need for additional disabled parking spaces, tree maintenance and potential electric charging points.
  • Stonepit Land Leases: Progress continues with GVFB and Youth Club leases, though the latter raised concerns over lease length. Further meetings are planned to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Budget Preparations: Initial discussions for the 2025/26 budget included capital spends on a new car park fence, outdoor gym equipment, and environmental maintenance.
  • Planning Updates: Various planning applications were reviewed, with some approved and others refused or withdrawn. Details on the solar farm application are pending a further meeting.
