We have two quiz reports for you this week from the Quizmaster herself, Jackie Binley.
Star Charity Quiz – 19th November 2024
What gave everyone a smile on their faces last night at the Star Charity Quiz last night? A little puppy, training to be Guide Dogs For The Blind. This adorable addition was the focus of the night, with the quiz raising £277 for the charity. A fantastic turnout saw 13 teams and 75 quizzers competing. The picture round was a killer apparently for some, but not for GADS who made history with back-to-back wins, scoring an impressive 91 points!
The Old Rockers came second with 89 points, performing brilliantly despite being distracted by the puppy (thanks, Judith!). The answer of “John Donne” was given by Lynn in splendid form!
Third was Queen Street Runners with 88 points and 4th was The Topical Team and Geddington Goers with 87points equal.
Thanks must go to John Hobbs for a lovely Music Round . Geddington Goers got 40 out of 40 . Must have been their finest hour!
Thanks to Emma and Marcie for womanning the bar. They were SO busy and to the Guide Dogs for The Blind team who were furiously selling raffle tickets. Consequently, they raised £277 for the evening!
The next Quiz is THE LAST QUIZ OF THE YEAR !!!!
Don’t miss the Last Quiz of the Year on Tuesday 3rd December, where we will have nibbles, excitement, hysteria, love and so much more. Please book your team and numbers. Its very important because I think it will be a tight squeeze. And come fairly early, say 7:15pm, to settle yourself. The picture round will be inspired, (meaning scraping the bottom of the barrel). Quizzes will start again on Tuesday 28th January 2025, with renewed vigour!
PS Gordon MAY be bringing Otter Dung for others to sniff, IF he has time. Apparently, Otter dung has the smell of Palma Violets with a hint of Earl Grey. If he does, it is totally separate from THE NIBBLES. Did I mention the nibbles?? Gordon will NOT be bringing the nibbles.
Star Charity Quiz – 5th November 2024
£200 was raised last night at The Star Geddington at Quiz night for The Royal British Legion. And the winners of the Quiz was GADS with 83 points. Second was a 3 way split of Carole and Co , The Old Bags and Queen Street Runners with 81 points. 10 teams entered, a bit depleted but just as raucous! Where were you Brickyard Bodgers ? We missed you! And Welcome to the team ‘The Houses Of The Holy‘.
Half of The Old Rockers and Geddington Goers. They had to form a team The Old Geddington Rocking Goers. They got 70 points.
