This year’s Summer Fete on 23rd June was a great success for us.
The Knitting Group had promised:
Warm, Wild & Woolly
Woodland Animals
And we delivered! We had hedgehogs, mice, bunnies, squirrels, owls, foxes, even bears – I didn’t say British woodland animals – in fact the bears proved very popular.
We had a great day selling these small, hand-knitted, woodland animals to children, parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents. And, considering the prices of them – very few more than £10 and most about £1 – we did surprisingly well.
So thank you to all the fete goers who helped us raise over £140!
In line with many other groups (we hope), we will be donating £100 of our profits, towards the Fete Committee’s project of providing Flood Barriers for village residents who suffer from this disastrous weather problem that affects so many of our homes.
The balance will go towards funding our next project – Christmas Tree Festival – here we come!
We meet at the Café Oak in Queen Street, Geddington from 10 to 11.30am every Friday. We drink, chat, socialise, discuss the latest project and meet like-minded people. If you cannot get to the Café on a Friday, we would be delighted to assist you in your aim to learn how to knit, or perhaps crochet; just contact one of the people mentioned below.
