The latest meeting of the Geddington, Newton and Little Oakley Parish Council covered a wide range of local topics, including potholes, the Parish Plan survey, Anglian Water issues, and preparations for this year’s Summer Fete.
Key points from the meeting included:
- Potholes remain a major concern, with North Northamptonshire Councillor Brendon Lovell-Moore discussing the county-wide repair budget and plans to inspect problem areas in person, including Newton Road and Little Oakley.
- Residents continue to raise concerns about Anglian Water and sewerage problems in the village. Councillors discussed a recent sewage pipe break near the River Ise which affected parts of the recreation ground and footpaths near the children’s play area. Anglian Water has fenced off the area while repairs and restoration work take place.
- Work is progressing on the new cycle rack at Geddington Village Hall. Councillors approved groundworks and installation, with the rack being slightly repositioned due to Anglian Water infrastructure works nearby.
- The Parish Plan consultation continues, with outreach work taking place across the parish, including at the school, church, pub, cricket club and Castle Gardens, in an effort to gather views from a wide range of residents.
