The Star Charity Quiz every fortnight was in aid of Young GADS, an admirable cause that helps keep teenagers engaged in the village, with Lorraine as its leader.
It is a FUN quiz, but because of the nature of life, it has become very intensive!! I have found out that I don’t know everything (who would have known that?), and consequently I must frustrate people who are more knowledgeable than me!
It is a fun quiz, and most quiz teams realise that it is impossible. Most teams have realised that you go out, relax, have a drink, and forget your woes! Most teams don’t care if they win or lose; that it is not fair that someone cheats; that the answers are too simplistic and endeavour to give two answers; or that the music is so old that you’ve heard it 1,000 times. You’re here, you’re together, and you are supporting a brilliant cause!
We raised £247.00 for Young GADS.
The winners were tied on 84 points: Stoity Twange and Queen Street Runners. The winners were Stoity Twange because they gave the best answer on the tie-break question, which was: “How long, in miles, is the Suez Canal?” The answer was 120.1 miles.

Third was Mutts and Nutts with 83 points, and fourth was BBJS with 80.
A new team, “The Two of Us“, joined in the quiz and left before the end. I like to think that they found us friendly, and I HOPE they come again.
Special thanks to Graham, who managed to do the raffle so effortlessly! Oh, and to John Hobbs for doing the music round. Finally, thanks to Emma and her team for pulling the pints.
The next quiz is on Tuesday 21st April and is in aid of Geddington WI.
Please join us, but book your numbers and team names in advance so that we can accommodate you.
