Minutes have just been published for the Parish Council meeting on Monday 10 November 2025, which met to discuss a wide range of local issues affecting Geddington, Newton and Little Oakley. Key points from the meeting include:
- Community safety: A Community Safety Officer from Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue attended to talk about fire safety in the home and wider community safety matters, and was thanked for his input.
- Boughton Estates updates:
- The sale of the old Post Office is expected to complete within a few weeks.
- Works to the Clay Dick track have widened the route, but concerns were raised about the condition left by contractors and the need for full accessibility for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
- Proposals for changes to the entrance into Newton from Newton Road were discussed, with a meeting planned involving Boughton Estates, Parish Councillors and North Northamptonshire Council.
- EV charging points: Reports of possible measuring work in Queen Street prompted the Clerk to check whether North Northamptonshire Council is planning electric vehicle charging points. The option of chargers in the Village Hall car park will also be explored.
