Last night at The Star Quiz, The Civic Society was the charity. They very kindly presented to me a box of chocolates and a lovely rose . Thank you Civic Society. You truly lived up to your name !
14 teams took part. Queen Street Runners arrived to find that, once again, they hadn’t booked. Their touring manager was sacked, but was immediately reinstated as other members realized that none of them wanted to do it! I explained that after the Quiz, walking 12 feet to the bar and getting Emma to write down the team and numbers was not onerous! As punishment, They had to scrounge a table and 6 high stools. I’ve told them next time the stools will be a foot higher than this time!
In third place, 2 teams were Topical Team and BBJS with 78 points. So close and yet…. Second place was NFN with 79 points. First place with 80 points was Queen Street Runners.
The strongest team because they hold up all the rest was The Amateurs with 60 points . Thank you for persistently striving.
The next Quiz is on Tuesday 17th June and is for the GADS. This group of thespians have been entertaining us brilliantly but productions are expensive.
Please don’t try and ply us with presents and chocolates. It doesn’t work. The Civic Society came 8th and Gordon ate most of the chocolates!
