Carol and Co dominate Quiz at the opening of The Star’s new Dining Room

To a great fanfare of Royal Trumpets and Dancing, the dining room is open!

On Tuesday 21st May The Charity Quiz at The Star was an exciting affair. 13 teams took part and a few favoured ones were in the new dining room to try out their luck.

Johnny’s Happy place were the charity and boy did they have a magnificent raffle, resulting in the largest sum of £241.00. They thoroughly deserved it with their persuasive raffle ticket sellers !

Carol and Co won with 78 points. Their extensive knowledge of the music round blew the others out of the water! Second equal with 77 points were GADS and Loose Women and 4th with 76 points was Queen Street Runners. The new dining room didn’t help unfortunately.

Carol and Co were this week’s winners at The Star Charity Quiz

My enunciation was challenged when half the teams were discussing which Hampshire cathedral had the longest Gothic NAVE in Europe and a few were discussing the longest NAME in Europe !! Also the question ‘In which county is Pankhurst Prison situated?’ Answer Isle Of Wight. Well, I always address it there when I send little parcels to my relatives.

The next Quiz is on Tuesday 4th June and is in aid of Kettering Civic Society. Please book your teams in, with numbers so that the Landlord can successfully arrange the seating plan.

The new dining room at The Star was opened for the first time to great success!
