Children and grown-ups in our community have been bustling with activity: crafting and assembling imaginative outfits for World Book Day, so we invited you to share photos of your children’s costumes.
Now, let’s take a moment to admire the creativity and effort put into these fantastic ensembles.

What is World Book Day?
World Book Day is a celebrated UK annual event dedicated to promoting the joy of reading among children. On this day, schoolchildren are given a book voucher, encouraging them to explore the vast world of literature and discover new stories that ignite their imagination and love for reading.

Harry, Hermione or Ron?
The top 5 costumes based on children’s books this year, included characters from Harry Potter (by J K Rowling), the hilarious Gangsta Granny (by David Walliams) and either Thing 1 or Thing 2, from the whimsical Cat in the Hat. Classics such as Where’s Wally? and the Mr. Men’s Mr. Bump, still make the list in 2024
Thank you
Thanks to everyone who sent us their photos! It’s not too late to get added to this page and share your fantastic costumes. Send them to editor@geddington.net and why not tell us some of your favourite books as well?
