The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has given rise to much activity in the village over the last 2 – 3 months, finalising over the next two weekends.
And with brains as well as brawn, as these two quizzes show:
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Quiz is a history quiz for the adults, which will either send you around the village, diving into the website’s archive and history pages or asking your older relatives – they may well have lived through some of the answers. Some answers can be found in our “Geddington – A Royal Exhibition“, which is being held in the Village Hall on Saturday (1 – 4pm) and Sunday (10am-4pm) 28th & 29th May.
To help with the atmosphere at the Exhibition, the W.I. are creating a 50s Tea Room, serving their well-known teas, cakes and, possibly, cream teas – oooh, delicious!
Answers to the Quiz in by Thursday 2nd June, to No. 9 Grafton Road, and don’t worry if you can’t answer all the questions – we’ll take all submissions!

Continuing the Quiz theme, there is a “Geddington Crown Jewel Hunt” for children up to the age of 11. This will involve walking around the village, identifying those houses, by number or name, who have the purple & white Jubilee logo (as on the form and in this paragraph) in their window or on their fence post. The competition starts on 25th May and they have until Thursday 2nd June to hand their forms in to No 9. Grafton Road. Prize winners will be presented at The Big Picnic on Sunday 5th June at the Recreation Field. Good Luck.
