There’s something new going on in Geddington….
A casual conversation about playing netball at school and remembering how much it was enjoyed, led a group of ladies to consider the idea of setting up a Walking Netball group within the village.
The starter session held in April was planned as a fun session but we soon found that age had not dimmed our competitive spirit or our sense of fun!
Sessions now run every Wednesday afternoon, supported by local coaches, at Geddington Primary School . The rules of Walking Netball are slightly different and the sessions take account of our very wide ranging levels of fitness and experience. We usually spend the hour building up our skills through fun routines and then follow it up with a ‘match’ where we try to apply those skills.

It is great fun and has given us a chance to meet up with others wanting to improve their fitness and do something a bit different. England Netball have been very supportive and are helping us to gain some community sponsorship to enable us to continue through the winter.
You don’t have to be fit; you don’t have to be old; you don’t need to have played before and you don’t have to know the rules, but you will need a sense of humour and a pair of trainers to take part.
We would love to see the group grow and would invite anyone who might be interested to get in touch for more details or just come along and see for yourself how it is done.
Every Wednesday; 5:30-6:30pm in term time Cost £3 per session
