Congratulations to the
Lets Gedd Going Transport Group
The NCC have confirmed that the No 8 bus service will continue, albeit at a reduced service from the current one.
The new timetable should come into effect at the end of July and should run until March 2020. The service will include an (approximately) 8am bus, which will serve schools, the college and the town centre, returning at approximately 4pm.
However, it still needs to be signed off by the Traffic Commissioners, but the service is 98% certain. The Group would like to thank James Loader, the officer at Northants County Council who, with the Group’s colleagues and Centrebus, has worked hard to find this solution.
Many, many thanks also go to those extra passengers who have used the bus recently, the increase in numbers is one of the reasons why the service was looked on favourably. The Group stress that continued use can only help in the long term, whether it is free-paying over 65s or the younger public. Everyone helps: everyone gains.
It is good news as, if the service had been lost completely, it would have been almost impossible to have got it back.
