Marian and Keith Sexton, long-time residents of No 2 Bright Trees Road, have taken the plunge and moved to – No 3!
The Sextons have been living at No 2 Bright Trees Road for over 43 years, having bought the property brand new with their two young sons back in 1974. Over the years, they’ve been very happy and seen their children grow up and move away.
However, latterly, the large garden, which hosted the annual barbecue for the residents of Bright Trees Road and adjoining roads, became a bit of a chore and this, combined with the steep stairs, forced Marian and Keith to think about moving. They loved the area and got on well with the neighbours so, when No 3, across the road became available, they decided to buy it!
Having bought the property last June, they then had to get planning permission to convert the garage into a spare bedroom, which, along with added accommodation, made it easier to fit in the furniture they wanted to keep. Luckily, they were able to use local builders and craftsmen to do the work, which took place between October and December last year.
Marian and Keith are very happy with their move which, to quote their neighbour Clive, is “moving house, but not home.” They are looking forward to the sale of No 2, which is presently on the market, and hope the new owners will be as happy as they have been.
