Flower Power Reigns at the Festival

Flower Festival 2016

Two wonderful flower shows to see in Geddington, at both places of worship. When it comes to flowers, the images speak for themselves, all we can do is thank those who were responsible, not only for the arrangements, but also for those responsible for the themes and original designs, all of which show considerable skills and artistic talents.

St Mary Magdalene Church

The chosen theme was a well-named ‘A Recipe for Success’ and the following images show just a few of the amazing displays.

The Church also remembered those who fell a hundred years ago, with a poignant display.

And finally, from the Church:

Geddington United Reformed Church

The Chapel chose to commemorate the Ladybird Books, with nine amazing displays.

The Chapel also paid tribute to those who fell in the First World War.

Some of the displays are so large and the display space in the Chapel so small, that the photographs do not do them justice, so most of the images are details from the display. You really have to go and see them to appreciate them properly.

With teas and refreshments, book stalls and plants, there is plenty to see and do.

Sunday opening hours, for both Church and Chapel, are 12 noon to 5pm.

Why not have a pleasant and peaceful Sunday afternoon, visiting the best of British in some of the best of British countryside?
