GBG & the Firmenich Community Team

The Geddington Brickyard Garden

had help from a new source on 1st October – the Firmenich Community Team, consisting of 14 keen, appropriately-dressed individuals, arrived to help with the start of winterising the Garden.

Organiser, Lynette, reported:

Community support from Fermenich UKLOTS OF THANKS . . .
On 1st October, we welcomed 14 volunteers from Firmenich UK and we had a hugely productive and enjoyable day. The team cleared most of the raised bed area and laid membrane and woodchip; the boundary fence was raised to deter deer during winter; the pergola was completed; five trees planted in new orchard area; weeds cleared and another raised bed built. Just fantastic … huge thanks to Anna who helped to organise this event.

Babes in the WoodlandNicky and her ‘Babes in the Woodland’ children have designed and created a new raised bed. The children decided on a ‘Fairy Garden’ theme and have come up with lovely ideas.

P1020796Thanks to the Sunday School who have added their mosaic designs to the GBG mural.

We now look forward to lots of creative designs for our iron totem pole from our school children. Thanks to Martin Adamson, Head, for supporting this GBG design project.”

In another event, Lynette wished to “thank all those who donated raffle prizes and came along to support GBG at The Star Pub Quiz on 6th October. We raised a massive £153.”
