Election 2015 – the Parish Council

The 2015 Election

– will have a knock-on effect on many areas of our lives. One such effect will be the changing of the date of the May Parish Council Meeting.

The counting of the votes is usually done immediately after the polls have closed.  However, this year, the Borough Council have advised that counting will we carried out over the weekend after the voting. That is to say, the weekend of 9th and 10th May. There is the faint possibility that counting may extend into the Monday 11th May.

Why does this affect the Parish Council?
It is because, if there are sufficient numbers, the positions on the parish council are also up for election and the make-up of our Parish Council may change after 7th May.
