The Squirt – Geddington Style
None of the website team were able to attend The 2014 Squirt,
so we are grateful to the Chittock team of Christine and Maurice for
providing the following photos and report.
From Christine:
The gallant Geddington team.
The more elegant 60 year old Queen Eleanor Fire Engine.
The opposition takes their position on the north side.
Whilst Geddington cross the ford to the south side.
Priming the pump, this fills Queen Eleanor’s tank.
And this is what it is all about – a barrel slung across the River Ise.
The Water War and it’s not just the firemen who get wet!
You need muscle to hold these hoses!
And who won?
Wet, exhausted, victorious in survival if not in practice, time for that special brew.
And from Maurice:

The churchyard
