Geddington Volunteer Fire Brigade members met at the Eleanor Cross yesterday evening for an Evening Telegraph photo shoot.
Gary Sharman (Captain of Drill) in charge of the barrel roll commented that it was good to be back in the centre of the village for the event that starts at 12:00 at the Eleanor Cross on Sunday 8th September. He added that it threatened to be a strong field of entries this year and visitors could expect thrills and spills.
Some 8 real ales will be available on the day including Jack Spaniels and Booze Hound from Gun Dog Ales, Daventry, DXB and BSA from Nene Valley Brewery, Oundle; two ales from J Church, and a Perry Cider. The usual meat joint spit roast will also be in operation to complement these specially selected ales.
Tony Barnett organising the entertainment commented that two bands: Yoda Club and This Dirty Future, together with a female solo singer, Kiera Lawson, would be performing. The Fire Brigade themselves will also, apparently, be putting on a “cabaret act”.
All seems to be set for good beer, good food and good entertainment. Let’s just hope it’s good weather for this popular annual event.
