Nothing gladdens the heart more than good weather for an event that has taken so much effort to bring to fruition. The Parents’ Association (the organisers), the GVFB (the helpers) and the stallholders of this year’s Street Fair, awoke to what promised to be a good weather day. And the early promise didn’t disappoint, as the sunshine continued throughout the day.
Visitors were given plenty of stalls to visit, plenty of entertainment to watch, as well as plenty of choice in refreshments while doing so.
Attracting visitors to Geddington has positive side effects as well. One visitor has emailed Geddington.net and said:
“We came to visit your Street Fair and had a gorgeous cream tea in the grounds of the church and afterwards, went to look inside. I can honestly say that I think your church is beautiful, every part full of history; the alter and stained glass windows are stunning. I could feel a real sense of peace and calmness. It is so nice that the church has lots of things going on after the services for the children and people of Geddington. And, by the way, whoever made the scones for the cream teas – well, they were lovely!”
After all the hard work and effort put into holding such an event, it will be of particular satisfaction to find out that an amazing amount of £3807 was raised.
“A fantastic amount for the school,”
was the comment from the P.A.’s committee.
