THE STAR dims its light once more!

Geddington’s ‘STAR INN’ closed its doors on Friday 12th April 2013.

This historic public house that sits in the shadows of The Eleanor Cross, is another victim of today’s tough times. Unfortunately for managers Richard and Jayne and all the staff, Friday was last orders!!!

Life in the pub and food trade is difficult at most times, but following the recent and unexpected death of it’s landlord Harry Kelly, the Pub owners have decided to close the premises.

The Star has always featured strongly within Geddington and has often been referred to in the past as the ‘Heart Beat’ of the village.

Hopefully it will not be too long before a new landlord is found and the sight of many families and visitors to our village will be seen once again swarming the steps of the Cross, whilst having a refreshing drink, sharing stories and enjoying fun and laughter once again.

In the meantime the White Hart in West Street and the White Lion in Queen Street are still trading as normal. So as ‘Meatloaf’ once said, “Two out of three ain’t bad”.
